The love of the outdoors and hunting started at an early age. As a teenager, hunting and capturing each hunt on film became one of my passions. RD1 Outdoors got it's beginning Christmas morning in 1992 when my parents got Brian a video camera. The following spring Brian filmed me harvest a spring gobbler. That's how it all started. Twenty one years later, I still love spending time in the outdoors with my family and friends. You can learn a lot about a person in a deer stand, a turkey blind or in the field pheasant hunting. The tradition of hunting will be in my life forever.

Don Painter
My grandfather introduced me to the outdoors at a young age. I used to tag along with him as he trained beagles and he taught me a lot about the outdoors. Some of my fondest memories as a youngster are from time spent chasing bunnies and hunting with my grandfather. As I aged, my passion for the outdoors grew and now I pursue anything I can. I have been hunting with David, Brian and Rick for the past 20 years and hope we can continue sharing hunting memories for years to come.

Alex Dunker
Alex was born in raised in the whitetail capital of the world, Pike County, Illinois. His father introduced him to hunting and fishing at an early age, and over the years they have enjoyed hunts for nearly every species Pike County and the surrounding area has to offer. Alex hunts the whole food chain in Pike County from mushrooms to record book whitetail deer and everything in between. The first part of the year will find Alex shooting birds over his Weimaraner bird dogs, collecting shed antlers, turkey hunting and planting food plots. As August rolls around, Alex avidly pursues the quarry that was first introduced to him by his father at 10 years of age: squirrels. Few weekends in August and September pass without Alex harvesting at least one limit of Grey squirrels with his favorite .17 Mach 2 rifle.
His main passion in the outdoors, however, arrives October 1st. This marks the beginning of the Illinois archery deer season. For three months, Alex pursues the giant Pike County bucks that he has grown and watched all year. In his 14 years bow hunting, he has a proven track record of catching up with these big boys more often than not.
Brian Bierer
Brian Bierer is a professional meat cutter & processor with more than 17 years experience. Currently employed as an assistant meat manager for Giant Eagle Markets. I grew up in Bobtown Pennsylvania, a small coal mining town. As with most small towns activities were limited so I was left to come up with my own entertainment. This was before cell phones, computers and technology that we all depend on today. Most days were spent exploring the outdoors watching them wake up and fall asleep. I began my adventures checking trap lines with a family friend, digging ginseng, and fishing farm ponds. I finally turned 12 years old and successfully passed the Hunters Safety Course required by the state of PA. The day arrived where it was my turn to carry a gun on opening day, this is a huge step in a young mans life to finally be part of the team and join family and friends. Over the years I have been successful in many outdoor adventures chasing after animals with fins, feathers, and fur. My passion for the outdoors has turned into a love and dream come true, to hunt, fish, and film outdoor adventures. Now I can be found in front of, and behind a video camera filming hunts. As I like to say after a successful day in the field Get Ta Guttin.
Rick Menear
Rick has had a love and passion for the outdoors since he was old enough to follow his dad through the hills of Greene County, Pennsylvania. Some of his best memories are of him and his dad hunting, fishing, and trapping together every chance they got. Now, Rick enjoys taking his own children hunting and fishing and seeing their excitement each time they’re in the outdoors. He loves to hunt small game and whitetail deer but pursuing the wild turkey is by far his favorite. Rick lives in southern Virginia with his wife Christy and their three children Austin, Clay and Ella. Other than hunting, he enjoys his job as an administrator, coaching and being a follower of Jesus Christ. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. - Joshua 1:9
